I find it really cool how God echo’s many essential attributes of who he is all throughout the heavens and earth. One of these attributes is his hard to grasp and even harder to explain triune makeup – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Since we were created, in his image; we were created with triune attributes - a body, a soul and a spirit. Our body includes all things physical; our flesh, our organs, and everything in between. Our soul includes our mind, will and emotion. And our spirit is our essence - the core of who we are.

Consider this Air1 verse of the day below:

When we realize that we have this selfish desire inside of us that often results in sin that we cannot fix on our own, we cry out to Jesus to forgive us and become Lord of our lives. - At that moment, a beautiful exchange takes place. Jesus takes on our Sin - and we take on His righteousness!

When we put our faith in Jesus, His Spirit and our spirit joined and took up residence IN us! We instantly became new in the core of our being. We were saved and made new. . . in our spirit. From that moment forward we also have been given everything we need to begin walking that out and submitting our soul (our mind, will and emotion) to our new, inner creation. This is called a sanctification process. Of course, at times, we will fail; giving in to our old way of life. That is because our soul is being conformed, or being saved. Although we sometimes sin, our life is now hidden in Christ, God sees us fully justified and righteous, looking at us through the work of Jesus. And once Jesus comes back, even our bodies will be made new. . .

A loose interpretation is that our Spirit was saved, our soul is being saved, and our body will be saved. We cannot separate these parts of ourselves any more than we can separate the attributes of God. But we can better understand our own struggles and walk in confidence that despite our own failures, God still sees the perfect work of Jesus in us. We can confidently walk in awareness and obedience to Holy Spirit in us.
